![]() The program runs with a Stockfish engine, one of the currently strongest chess computer engines. Naturally, if you actually did this you should take any results with a grain of salt, but I think it would give you a fairly good estimate. Here you can play against the chessmail online chess computer. For example if you know the correct move in a position and it took your computer 10 seconds to find it, but the server chose a sub-optimal move, you could conclude the server analysis is inferior to 10 seconds on your own machine.(assuming of course that they both are running stockfish 8). For testing the strength of server analysis, maybe setting up some positions of varying "difficulty" and seeing how long it takes your local machine to come up with the correct move, then seeing if the server found it. ![]() From there you should be able to calculate the difference in elo between the two. An interesting nonscientific way to test the relative strengths would be to simply let stockfish from your browser play against your local computer with say 10 seconds per move and see how the scores go. An engine running natively will not run slower than one running through a browser.Īs for testing speed of browser and server engines, its hard to do without knowing the exact parameters the engine was run with.
